A wayward son of Colorado has returned home to the Denver Nuggets. Forward Michael Ruffin has signed a contract with the Nuggets on Thursday. Ruffin was born in Denver, CO, and played high school basketball for Cherry Creek High School before heading off to Tulsa for college ball.
Ruffin joined the NBA as a second-round pick by the Chicago Bulls in 1999. He bounced around to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Utah Jazz, the Washington Wizards, the Milwaukee Bucks and most recently the Portland Trail Blazers in 2008-2009.
He coached the ABA's Colorado Kings in 2010 before playing in Spain last year. The 34-year-old will now attempt an NBA comeback after a two-year layoff. The best of luck to Ruffin in that venture.
