NBA Rumors 2011: Nene's Destination Down To Three Teams, But Dwight Howard Situation Needs To Conclude, According To Report

Nene is still waiting to sign with a team, be it with the Denver Nuggets or elsewhere. However, it might take a little while for him to ink a new contract. Nene is likely to decide between the Nuggets, the New Jersey Nets and the Houston Rockets, reports ESPN's Marc Stein, but the latter two teams need to settle their own outstanding issues.

For the Nets, that means there needs to be a resolution on Dwight Howard first. Will the Magic be able to trade him to Nets, as he requested, or will he wind up on the other side of the country and join Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers?

The Rockets signed Marc Gasol to a four-year, $55 million offer sheet, but, as David Aldridge reports, the Memphis Grizzlies plan to match the offer. That would appear to send the Rockets into high gear for Nene, but the Nuggets can still offer the most money and the only hometown he knows in the United State.

Still, Stein is hearing that the Nuggets remain confident that Nene will remain in Denver.
