Carmelo Anthony Expects 'Some Boos And People Weeping And Whining' When He Returns To Denver

If the NBA does start is season without canceling any more games, the opening tip off for the Denver Nuggets would be on Nov. 16 in the Pepsi Center. But that's a big if. Unless one side gives in, more and more games will be canceled.

But if a miracle happens and the season does start on Nov. 16, the Nuggets would host Carmelo Anthony. 'Melo thinks he'll get a mostly positive reaction:

"I don't think I did anything wrong to the Denver fans. I think I've been loyal to them for 7 1/2 years, so for me to go back—of course you're going to have some boos and people weeping and whining about it—but for the most part I can say I did a hell of a job out there in Denver," Anthony said.

Sure, the way in which the entire situation was handled came about poorly, but 'Melo did breathe life back into Denver basketball after nearly a decade of incompetence. He probably would receive a smattering of boos, but Denver should be thanking him for all that he has done.

It probably just won't happen on Nov. 16.
