NBA Power Rankings: The Nuggets Just Aren't A Scary Team

In SB Nation's NBA Power Rankings, the Denver Nuggets held the No. 8 spot for the second week in a row. It was an interesting week for the Nuggets off the court. The Carmelo Anthony trade rumors reached a standstill when New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov held a press conference to state that he instructed his team's front office to pull out of a three-team deal to land Melo. Now Nuggets fans must wait to see what owner Josh Kroenke and general manager Masai Ujiri do.

On the court, the Nuggets defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers, while losing to the Los Angeles Lakers. Tom Ziller has a pretty good take on the Nuggets in his write-up on the team: "Denver continues to beat the teams it is supposed to beat, and lose to squads of a higher stature. That's sort of been the story of the George Karl Nuggets, hasn't it? Juuust not good enough to scare anyone."

A five-game road trip could do wonders to help make the Nuggets a stronger team.
