Report: Nuggets Want Nets To Take Al Harrington; NJ Doesn't Want Harrington's Contract

ESPN's Chris Broussard reports that the Denver Nuggets want the New Jersey Nets to take Al Harrington in this proposed mega-deal for Carmelo Anthony. However, the Nets do not want to on Harrington's contract, which has four years and $28 million left on it. Broussard believes that the Nets would like to find a fourth team that would be willing to take Harrington's contract, but would prefer that Denver drop Harrington from the deal.

Harrington has come off the bench for the Nuggets, averaging 12.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He had a thumb injury around the New Year that kept him out for several games, but has seen an increase in playing time lately.

The Nets and Pistons have not yet come to an agreement over which round the draft pick Detroit receives for also taking Johan Petro.

Will the Nuggets continuing to drag their feet on this trade make a last-minute collapse possible? Stay tuned.
