Denver Nuggets Media Day: George Karl Sounds Frustrated

With his time on the podium sandwiched in between Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, Nuggets head coach George Karl sounded like a man that has grown very tired of all of the Carmelo trade talk. Vic Lombardi was keeping us informed during the press conference:

"Melo and I chatted for 5 minutes. I don't know why he wants to leave. My thing is to keep him here. 5 years ago, kobe wanted out"less than a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

"I'm gonna call Phil and ask how he kept Kobe around. We wanna get back to that place we were two years ago. It's very realistic".less than a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

"Why so negative about the Nuggets? Uncertainty is with every team in the NBA. We've won with and without Melo in the past."less than a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

After sitting out the second half of the 2009 season while receiving treatment for cancer, Karl would have welcomed a quiet offseason to ease him back unto his head coaching role. What he got, was anything but.
