The Denver Nuggets spread the points around in the first quarter against the Dallas Mavericks to take a 27-23 lead. Guards Chauncey Billups and Arron Afflalo scored eight points and seven points, respectively. Carmelo Anthony, Gary Forbes and Shelden Williams each added four points. All five starters had at least two rebounds, as well. As a team, the Nuggets made 11 of 27 field goals (3 of 8 on three pointers) and made all four free throw attempts. Al Harrington has yet to score a point in six minutes off the bench.
For the Dallas Mavericks, power forward Dirk Nowitzki led the way with 10 points and three rebounds.
