At the conclusion of the first quarter, the Denver Nuggets looked in complete control of game, leading 28-16. Down 16-11 with four minutes left in the first quarter, the Nuggets went on a 17-0 run to finish with a 28-16 lead. However, that momentum failed to carry over in the second quarter. Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge made an easy five-foot shot and then Wesley Matthews made three consecutive three-point shots. The Nuggets and Trail Blazers kept it close for the rest of the quarter, but the Nuggets lead, 45-43, at halftime.
For the Nuggets, Carmelo Anthony has scored 10 points, nabbed six boards, made two assists and stolen three balls. Arron Afflalo has 10 points and five rebounds, being perfect at the line and from the field. Portland’s Wesley Matthews leads with 15 points and eight rebounds, while LaMarcus Aldridge has 14 points and seven rebounds.
