Denver Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups was robbed! Robbed I tell ya! Billups hit a three-quarter court shot against the New York Knicks to end the half that the refs negated because of a phantom traveling violation. Nevertheless the Nuggets go into the half with a 61-54 halftime lead. We'll see if those three points come into play at the end of the game.
The Nuggets started the second half on fire, moving from a tie ballgame at the end of the first quarter, to a 13-point lead midway through the second quarter.
But like most NBA games, the Knicks fought back to bring the game within five points before Carmelo Anthony scored on a powerful move near the end of the half. After Knicks guard Tony Douglas missed a three point attempt, Billups grabbed the board, turned around and launched it down court. The ball went in, but the points didn't count.
Anthony headed into the locker room with 11 points, tied for the team high with Al Harrington and for the game high with three Knicks: Landry Fields, Amar'e Stoudemire and Danilo Gallinari. Fields also has 11 rebounds to pace all players. Gary Forbes leads the Nuggets in rebounding with seven.
