Fantasy Basketball Watch: Arron Afflalo, Shelden Williams

For any fantasy basketball owners out there, it may be worthwhile to pick up Denver Nuggets Arron Afflalo or Shelden Williams. Even though this comes on the heels of an Opening Night victory, Afflalo looks like the real deal. He put up 22 points, had three rebounds, made three assists and stole two balls. He would likely become the main scoring option if Carmelo Anthony is traded during the season.

Power forward Shelden Williams was the game's leading rebounder with 16 boards (seven offensive, nine defensive). He was only 3-of-11 on field goals, but his impact on any fantasy team will be with rebounds. However, Williams will only be worth a roster spot for the next couple of months, because Kenyon Martin will return early in the new year and start at power forward.

Both are likely to be available in leagues right now, so roll the dice on at least Afflalo since he has his starting job locked down. Williams, at best, will be a fantasy player for two months.
