Denver, CO (Sports Network) – Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points and added seven rebounds, leading the Denver Nuggets in a dominating 110-88 win over the Utah Jazz in the teams’ season-opener.
The game was a rematch of a first-round playoff series from last season, which Utah won in six games. But the Nuggets came out on top Wednesday thanks to 22 points from Arron Afflalo, along with 16 rebounds and eight points from Shelden Williams.
Deron Williams had a team-high 17 points, but sat on the bench during the fourth quarter — along with the other Jazz starters — after Denver had built a large lead.
Paul Millsap had 15 points and eight boards in the loss.
