Kenyon Martin is currently out with another knee injury, which will prevent him from stepping on the court for an unknown time. This season is the last one on his contract, and the Nuggets will not offer an extension.
As a result, Martin feels he should take his time to recover so some team can offer him a contract:
“I’m not rushing whatsoever. The day I come back is the day I come back,” Martin said. “Think about it: Ain’t nobody in a hurry to give me a contract, so why would I be in a hurry to rush back and risk further injury? Makes all the sense in the world, right? Trust me, I’ve thought about it plenty.”
He concluded that the Nuggets overused him last season and that led to his current injury.
