After allowing a touchdown with just over 10 seconds remaining in the first half, the Falcons responded and regained momentum in the third quarter to expand their lead over the Broncos to 27-7 entering the final quarter.
While the Broncos were able to stall Atlanta's opening drive of the half, two consecutive three-and-out offensive performances by the Denver offense continued to afford the Falcons opportunities. They took advantage of one with a quick, six-play drive that featured three Roddy White receptions and finished with White catching a four-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan.
While the defense forced another Falcons punt, the Broncos' offense wasn't able to get much going. They'll start the fourth quarter with the ball on their own 46-yard line with a first down following consecutive first down throws from Peyton Manning.
