With Week 1 of the 2012 NFL season in the books, it's time for the power ranking to be cranked out every Tuesday morning for the next several months. The Denver Broncos will likely find themselves moving into the top 10 or remaining there in those they already are.
The Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31-19, on Sunday Night Football in Peyton Manning's first football game in over 600 days. He finished the game with 253 passing yards and two touchdown passes -- not bad at all. The Broncos are hovering around No. 10 in the power rankings and this win should move them solidly into the top 10.
The Steelers will fall as a result of this loss, and being near the top five they could move behind the Broncos. The Green Bay Packers, the New York Giants, the New Orleans Saints had all been in ahead of the Broncos before the start of the season but will drop after losses during opening weekend. The Broncos are in a great spot to take advantage of this after the first week of the season.
