Broncos Training Camp 2012: Brock Osweiler Closing In On Backup Quarterback Job

ACcording to Jeff Legwold of The Denver Post, rookie QB Brock Osweiler has looked well during the 2012 Broncos Training Camp, and -- given a strong preseason showing -- he has a chance to play behind QB Peyton Manning as the No. 2 play-caller in Denver:

Manning has been a quality mentor to Osweiler. The rookie has said "How lucky am I? I get to learn from one of the greatest quarterbacks, probably the greatest quarterback, to play the game." And Osweiler has done a tremendous amount of work on his throwing mechanics and simply to learn the playbook.

Osweiler, 21, played three season with the Arizona St. Sun Devils, and only one of those seasons as the team's primary starter. In 2011, he threw for 4,039 yards and 26 touchdowns and 13 interceptions before the Broncos selected him with their second-round NFL Draft selection, the No. 57 pick overall.
