NFL Power Rankings: Denver Broncos No. 10 In NFL.com's Latest Iteration

It's almost time for the ravenous rush to find out where your favorite NFL team is in the myriad weekly power rankings. Did that win really move that team into the top 10? What a crushing defeat -- now I need to know if my team is the worst, the absolute worst, in the NFL.

Well, it's not quite the regular season yet, but NFL.com's Elliot Harrison has his preseason power rankings out after the first week of games and the Denver Broncos are his No. 10 team, making no movement. He doesn't mention Peyton Manning until the very and doesn't even write much about him when he does. Caleb Hanie is mocked, but everyone does that.

↵

What Harrison wants us to take note of is the pass protection the offensive line provided. We'll see ... the Chicago Bears did have three sacks against the backups and the first-team unit was out there only with Peyton Manning for a dozen snaps or so.

↵

Keep in mind, this offensive line is also missing Chris Kuper, who is now out for six weeks with a broken left forearm. Kuper was held out of the first preseason game due to recovering from his broken leg and dislocated ankle at the end of the 2011 season. Manny Ramirez took his place in that game and is expected to be the starter on Opening Night.

Let's give that praise some time to prove true.
