The Denver Broncos certainly hit a home run with former No. 2 overall draft pick Von Miller in his rookie season this past fall. He had 64 tackles and 11.5 sacks on his way to being the Defensive Rookie of the Year. He also played the last portion of the season with a cast on his thumb, having broken it in November.
The Broncos have their young leader on defense, and he was recently named as one of the top 10 players under the age of 25 in the league by NFL.com.
Miller didn't waste any time making his presence felt on the Broncos defense. He posted 10.5 sacks in their first 11 games before suffering a broken right thumb. [...] He is a very versatile defender. He excels as a pass rusher because of his suddenness off the ball and his ability to bend around the edge. He is also athletic enough to drop in zones or run with tight ends down the seam.
With one year under his belt, Miller is still honing his technique and will be even more feared when that happens. He and Elvis Dumervil should continue to haunt opposing offenses in the years to come.
