The Denver Broncos dipped into Texas on Saturday afternoon to grab Baylor Bears center Philip Blake in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. Blake, 6 feet 2 and 311 pounds, hails from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is 26 years old.
He will slot in behind fellow former Bears center J.D. Walton, the current start for the Denver Broncos. Walton has had an up-and-down time in the NFL over the first two years of his career. The Broncos did attempt to bring in former Peyton Manning teammate Jeff Saturday to play center, but he went to the Green Bay Packers.
Blake might certainly challenge Walton in a year or two.
Here are the other Broncos picks so far:
Cincinnati DT Derek Wolfe
Arizona St. QB Brock Osweiler
San Diego St. RB Ronnie Hillman
Arizona St. CB Omar Bolden
