The Denver Broncos made a trade with the Cleveland Browns to move up to the top of the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft to grab San Diego St. Aztecs running back Ronnie Hillman. Denver traded the 87th and 120th overall picks for the No. 67 pick.
Hillman was just a sophomore in 2011, but he was unable to play in 2009 so he was in reality three years removed from high school. He rushed for 1,711 yards and 19 touchdowns in the fall, but he is just 5 feet 8 and 200 pounds. That might not be a disadvantage, really. He has been compared to Darren Sproles, who has had success with the Chargers and the Saints.
Hillman likely won't challenge Willis McGahee for the majority of shares, but he will certainly be heavily involved, possibly as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.
