The Denver Broncos have traded the No. 25 overall pick to the New England Patriots for the No. 31 pick and a fourth-round pick. This was the second time the Patriots have traded up in this draft, gaining the No. 21 overall pick from the Cincinnati Bengals to draft Syracuse Orange defensive end Chandler Jones. The Patriots used the 25th overall pick to select Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Dont'a Hightower.

The Broncos will now have three fourth-round draft picks as a result of this trade. The Broncos acquired the second one from the New York Jets as part of the Tim Tebow trade back in March.
