The latest mock draft out of Football Outsiders is probably unlike any other before it. The Mocktopus is a mock draft system that combines Top 100 prospect ratings, positional priority algorithms and good, old fashioned mock drafts available on the Internet to run 10,000 simulated NFL drafts.
The results of the first beta test suggest the Denver Broncos will select Michigan St. Spartans DT Jerel Worthy:
25. Denver Broncos / Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State
The Mocktopus likes Worthy to go to the Broncos because, for some reason, the mock drafts have formed a consensus around Worthy and the Broncos despite the logjam of interior defensive linemen in this draft.
Worthy enters the 2012 NFL Draft as a 21-year-old, having finished the 2011 college season with 3.5 sacks in his junior season. Worthy turns 22 on Saturday.
