2012 NFL Mock Draft: Mike Mayock Predicts DT Dontari Poe For Broncos

We are just hours away from the 2012 NFL Draft, providing us precious few opportunities to read many more mock drafts. But the NFL Network's Mike Mayock has come out was his one and only mock draft of the season. For the Denver Broncos, Mayock foresees the team grabbing Memphis Tigers defensive tackle Dontari Poe

I've been trying to find a spot for him since pick No. 11 with the Chiefs. The Broncos need a guy who can come in and play inside. At 350 pounds with movement skills like Haloti Ngata, Poe is the guy. On third down, when most defensive tackles are out of the game, Poe will be at his most effective.

Comparing Poe to Ngata is high praise, indeed, but is it just hyperbole. Poe, for all his reported skill, was a standout at the combine and that propelled him in many mock drafts to a high draft spot. If he falls to No. 25, Poe might be a steal or we're seeing how teams really feel about Poe.

He never really dominated opposing teams while playing for Memphis, accumulating just five sacks in three years.
