2012 NFL Draft Results: Boise State RB Doug Martin Goes To Tampa Bay Buccaneers At No. 31

With the 31st overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Boise St. Broncos running back Doug Martin. Martin is the first Boise State running back to be selected in the first round, joining offensive tackle Ryan Clady (2008, 12th overall), safety Kyle Wilson (2010, 29th overall) and linebacker Shea McClellin (2012, 19th overall) as other former Broncos to go in the opening round.

Martin, a 5-foot-9 runner, accumulated 3,431 yards and 43 touchdowns while playing five years for the Broncos. He rushed for a career-high 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2011. Along with Kellen Moore, Martin helped bring the Broncos to a 50-3 record over the last four years.

Martin will compete with Kahlil Bell this summer once camps open in August.
