2012 NFL Mock Draft: National Football Posts Projects TE Orson Charles To Broncos In 3rd Round

The Denver Broncos signed tight ends Joel Dreessen and Jacob Tamme in March shortly after bringing in Peyton Manning as the team's quarterback. But does that mean the team will shy away from drafting a tight end next week? Possibly, but the National Football Post's Wes Bunting sees the Broncos taking a tight end in the third round (87th overall):

87. Denver Broncos: Orson Charles TE, Georgia
A gifted athlete who can create a lot of mismatches in the pass game. Should be able to improve as a route runner as well. Not quite as polished as Aaron Hernandez as an H-back coming out, but could end up playing a similar type role.

This makes sense if Charles is used more like an H-back, but it would still be hard for him to get playing time. Along with Dreessen and Tamme, the Broncos also have second-year tight ends Julius Thomas and Virgil Green who will look to improve on quiet first seasons.
