2012 NFL Draft: Peter King Predicts DT Michael Brockers For Broncos

Over at SI.com, Peter King has released his 2012 NFL mock draft a week ahead of the actual event. For the Denver Broncos, King's projected pick is LSU Tigers defensive tackle Michael Brockers, a selection that firmly fits with most thinking about the team's draft:

Denver will be stunned that Brockers is still on the board. And delighted. The Broncos lost free-agent defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley to the Saints a month ago, and this raw but promising 6'5" 322-pounder could play nose or a more versatile tackle role. "On potential," one coach told me, "Brockers deserves to be a top 10 pick."

Brockers, we'll recall, had several exciting plays during LSU's loss in the national title game, including a blocked field goal. It's no lock the Broncos will take a defensive tackle, but Brockers would be as good as any one the team could take.

The Broncos could take a look at those guys who go at Nos. 28 and 30 (defensive tackle Jerel Worthy and tight end Coby Fleener), but Brockers appears to be the correct choice here.
