The Denver Broncos added a couple of tight ends during free agency with the Joel Dreessen and Jacob Tamme, but that doesn't mean the team won't look at drafting someone who could play like Peyton Manning's former teammate, Dallas Clark. In SB Nation's latest 2012 NFL mock draft, the Broncos select Stanford Cardinal tight end Coby Fleener with the 25th overall pick. Here is what Ryan Van Bibber wrote about the selection:
Signing Peyton Manning is all you need to know about the Broncos immediate goals. To get the most out of the twilight of Manning's career, Elway needs to get him an array of weapons. Manning will make the pairing of Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker an effective set of weapons on the outside. Adding Fleener could give him another version of Dallas Clark to round out the offense.
This would go against the prevailing notion that the Broncos need to draft a defensive tackle in the first round. Guys like Fletcher Cox, Jerel Worthy and Devon Still have been discussed as possible selections for the Broncos here.
We'll find out the Broncos' direction in a little over a week.
