Broncos Free Agency 2012: Justin Bannan Signs With Denver

The Denver Broncos have brought back a familiar player on Wednesday morning, signing defensive tackle Justin Bannan:

Bannan previously played for Broncos during the 2010 season, picking up 35 combined tackles and one sack. He was released on March 3, 2011, along with Jamal Williams. Bannan went to the St. Louis Rams for the 2011 season and put up similar numbers to those he had in Denver.

Bannan joins a group of defensive tackles that includes Ty Warren, Kevin Vickerson, Ryan McBean and Mitch Unrein -- hardly a stellar cast there. Warren is injury-prone and missed the first year of his two-year contract. Vickerson played in a handful of games before injury did him in. Brodrick Bunkley left through free agency for the New Orleans Saints, and Marcus Thomas is also expected to sign elsewhere.

Bannan played his college football for the Colorado Buffaloes.
