Broncos Free Agency 2012: Tim Tebow Will Face Veteran Competition, According To Report

The Denver Broncos quarterback rumors are swirling, as the team is rumored to be interested in free agent quarterback Peyton Manning and he apparently prefers to stay in the AFC. The Broncos are one of twelve teams that have all reached out to Manning, but if he doesn't make his way to Denver, Mike Klis of The Denver Post predicts that the team certainly add a veteran quarterback to push Tim Tebow in 2012.

The list of Manning alternatives includes former Miami Dolphins starter Chad Henne, Arizona Cardinals starter Kevin Kolb, Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup Josh Johnson, Brady Quinn and Pittsburgh Steelers backup Dennis Dixon. Klis suggests that Henne is next on the Broncos' wishlist behind Manning because he has previous starting experience and is a true drop back quarterback.

Other backup options would include Shaun Hill, Josh McCown and Chris Redman.
