Broncos Free Agency 2012: Dennis Dixon, Denver Share Mutual Interest

The Denver Broncos have already signed Caleb Hanie to presumably be Peyton Manning's backup should Plan A fall through, but there now also appears there might be a Plan C or a challenge to Plan B. Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon and the Broncos have talked over the weekend, according to ESPN's Bill Williamson.

Dixon backed up Ben Roethlisberger for the last four seasons. He started the first two games of the 2010 season and one late during the 2009 season. He's an athletic quarterback who is definitely more mobile than Peyton Manning, but, again, John Elway is planning on Peyton Manning passing the ball for the entire season. The whole "I only have Plan A" rhetoric is fine, but as we see it's not put in practice
