Tim Tebow Trade: New York Jets Pick Up Former Denver Broncos Starter

Less than 24 hours after Peyton Manning became the new starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos, former starter Tim Tebow has been traded to the New York Jets for a fourth-round draft pick, reports Fox Sports' Jay Glazer:

UPDATE: The trade has officially been announced:

The Jets were at first a long shot to get Tebow, but by Tuesday night things changed for them. He is a guy who could turn around the negative locker room perception that engulfed the Jets at the end of the season. Also, Rex Ryan brought in Tony Sparano as his offensive coordinator, he who put the wildcat formation into play while the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. Tebow will certainly be worked into the game plan in that capacity.

This also sends a message to Mark Sanchez that he has even more pressure on him to succeed. If he can't do it, Ryan can always turn to Tebow as the quarterback.

The Broncos received slightly more than what most people projected, which was usually a fifth- or sixth-round draft pick.
