Though he may be the man pushing QB Tim Tebow back to the bench or to another team, newly-anointed Denver Broncos starting QB Peyton Manning says he is a fan of the outgoing starter. During Tuesday's press conference, simulcast online via NBC Sports, Manning expressed appreciation of the former Florida Gator:
I think [Tim Tebow's fans are] fans of his for great reasons. He's a great player and a great guy. And I think they can still be fans of his. I'm a fan of his too... I'm very respectful of what he accomplished last year.
Tebow is widely expected to become trade bait as the team does not have an intention to split playing time between the two wildly popular quarterbacks. Tebow started 11 games for the Broncos in 2011 and helped lead the team to a 7-4 record and an eventual playoff appearance.
