Broncos Free Agency 2012: Eddie Royal Signs With Chargers, According To Reports

Former Denver Broncos wide receiver Eddie Royal has signed with the San Diego Chargers, according to multiple reports. The financial terms have yet to be disclosed, but Royal's agreement is for three years.

Royal, a 2008 second round draft pick of Denver's, leaves the Broncos after four years and 206 catches. His most productive year came as a rookie, when he hauled in 91 catches for nearly 1,000 yards. His receiving role had diminished since, and he caught only 19 passes during 2011 when the Broncos shifted to a run and option based offense with Tim Tebow at quarterback.

He'll now join a familiar foe in AFC West rival San Diego, who had already signed Robert Meachem from the Saints in the opening hours of free agency.
