According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, the Washington Redskins have signed safety Brandon Meriweather:

The Denver Broncos were believed to be in contention for for the safety's services, as well as that of Cleveland Browns S Mike Adams, who will be visiting with the Broncos this week.
Meriweather, a five-year NFL veteran, earned two Pro Bowl appearances with the New England Patriots (in 2009 and 2010), but was cut before the 2011 season. He spent the year on the Chicago Bears' roster, but started only four games all season.
