The Denver Broncos could very well look at signing a safety during the free agency period given Brian Dawkins' uncertain future. Dawkins is a free agent and considering retirement, but if he returns it will be with the Broncos. Even if he does, the Broncos could use some help there in case Dawkins can't finish out the season. Former Chicago Bears safety Brandon Meriweather might be the answer:
Free-agent safety Brandon Meriweather plans to visit the Denver Broncos tonight.

The team had rookie Quinton Carter turn in a decent year, but Rahim Moore regressed badly over the season and lost plenty of playing time at free safety. No matter how we look at things, the Broncos definitely need to pick up some depth, or even a new starter, at safety.
