In the latest round of non-Peyton Manning news, Peyton Manning will not be a member of the Houston Texans, despite plenty of reports that the team would make a run at him. That's what ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting:
Despite speculation that Houston still could make a run at Peyton Manning, the Texans have no plans to pursue the free-agent QB.

So, basically, this doesn't alter the calculus of anything here with Manning since we won't have a late run by a third team such as the Texans. Maybe there will be a mystery team, but at this point it really does seem to be the Broncos ahead of the Cardinals in pursuit of Manning.
Or not. We'll know when the ink is dry on the contract Manning signs.
