Free agent quarterback Peyton Manning met with Denver Broncos officials last week, and while he left town without agreeing to a contract, word was that the Broncos were among the frontrunners for his services. On Sunday night, Denver sportscaster Vic Lombardi offered an update; according to his sources, the Denver Broncos are feeling very confident about landing Manning.
Just heard from my peoples. Broncos now 95% confident he'll sign with Denver. Their number, not mine.

Lombardi added that Manning contacted the Broncos on Sunday night, though the nature of that conversation is unknown. But whatever was said, it certainly seems to have Broncos officials feeling good. However, ESPN's Chris Mortensen has his own Broncos sources who are refuting that:
Broncos official wants it known: Manning didn't call team today or tonight & inform they're 95% fave. Manning source already refuted to me
