2012 NFL Draft Order Set With Dolphins, Chiefs Winning Coin Flips

The 2012 NFL Draft order has officially been set for April 26-28 after coin flips at the NFL Combine determined the four slots that needed to be settled. The Miami Dolphins and the Carolina Panthers each finished with a 6-10 record and the same strength-of-schedule, which results in a deadlock. The coin flip went in favor of the Dolphins winning the No. 8 overall pick while the Panthers will now pick at No. 9.

The other selections involved the Seattle Seahawks and the Kansas City Chiefs, teams that finished at 7-9 with identical strengths-of-schedule. The Chiefs will pick at No. 11 followed by the Seahawks at No. 12.

With that, the Indianapolis Colts really are on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick. Should they want to, the Colts could sign Andrew Luck to a contract before the draft, making the announcement on April 26 a mere formality.
