The Pittsburgh Steelers were down a running back with the loss of Rashard Mendenhall to a torn ACL during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. On Wednesday morning, the team announced that linebacker Chris Carter was placed on injured reserve and that undrafted rookie free agent Chad Spann was promoted from the practice squad.
More: Rashard Mendenhall Injury
We have placed LB Chris Carter on IR and added RB Chad Spann (Northern Illinois) to the active roster from our practice squad.

With the addition of Spann to the roster, this would appear to be a clear indication that Mewelde Moore will be unable to play due to his knee injury.
