NFL Mock Draft 2012: Luke Kuechly Goes To Broncos In ProFootballWeekly's 1st Mock

The Denver Broncos increased the talent level at linebacker in 2011 by drafting Von Miller with the second overall pick of the draft. Might the Broncos want to look to improve at middle linebacker in the 2012 NFL Draft? The team faces the potential loss of Joe Mays through free agency and Nate Irving wasn't able to do much as a rookie. The Broncos could draft Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly, as ProFootballWeekly projects right now.

PFW thinks Kuechly would fit the mold of linebackers head coach John Fox prefers:

The Butkus Award winner has been a tackling machine the past three years and could give John Fox's defense the leadership presence that Dan Morgan brought to Carolina early in Fox's Panthers tenure.

The real question here is if Kuechly will actually fall that far down in the draft. He could be selected in the teens, leaving the Broncos out of luck if they wanted him. But projecting Kuechly here is far better than the normal defensive tackle or running back that has been rampant the last few weeks.
