NFL Draft 2012: Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick Could Be Of Interest To Broncos

Depending on how things turn out in the 2012 NFL Draft, there might be a bit more influx of talent coming to Colorado from Alabama. With former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Jim McElwain the head coach over at Colorado State, several players from that team appear to be of interest to the Denver Broncos, speculates the Denver Post's Jeff Legwold.

Running back Trent Richardson and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, writes Legwold, are two first-round talents that would help upgrade the Broncos' in areas of varying degree. Richardson is likely the first running back off the board, and with the Broncos at No. 25 that makes it unlikely for him to come to Denver.

But Kirkpatrick could be had by the Broncos if they want to move up to the back end of the teens. However, we still need to see what happens with his recent arrest for alleged marijuana possession. Depending on the legal outcome of that and his answers to questions from NFL teams during interviews will determine where he gets drafted.
