The Denver Broncos lost veteran guard Chris Kuper for the remainder of the season after he dislocated his left ankle during Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. On a Willis McGahee run, rookie offensive tackle Orlando Franklin unluckily fell on Kuper from behind, dislocating the ankle. The video below shows the aftermath of the incident.
You can see McGahee's and Tim Tebow's reactions to the injury quite clearly. As soon as they look down at Kuper they realize that an ankle isn't supposed to go that way. They wince in obvious pseudo-pain and wait for the trainers to come out and help And that's when the viewing audience gets a full glimpse of Kuper's left foot being at 90 degrees in the wrong direction.
Kuper was drafted by the Broncos in the 5th round of the 2006 NFL Draft, the latest player drafted from the University of North Dakota. Previously, Jim Kleinsasser held that distinction, and the tight end went into retirement after Sunday's Minnesota Vikings game.
