NFL Mock Draft 2012: Albert Breer Predicts Clemson TE Dwayne Allen To Broncos

The staple of writers at NFL.com have begun to produce their first mock drafts of the season, Albert Breer has his first one out and the Broncos select Clemson Tigers tight end Dwayne Allen with the 25th overall pick. That's not an innovative choice for the Broncos since Allen has been thrown into the mix in other mocks.

However, it does show that many believe the Broncos do need to upgrade at the position, and that is completely true. Daniel Fells and Dante Rosario are not viable solutions going forward. Julius Thomas, a converted basketball player with one year of footbal experience before being draft in 2011, dealt with injury and didn't do much when he did see the field. Virgil Green was another rookie who will look for more playing time in 2012.

None of the current tight ends were first-round talents, but Allen is a big target for Tim Tebow to have as a safety valve. Defense wins championships, sure, but the quarterback also needs offensive weapons, which Tebow had few this past season.
