Denver sports reporter Vic Lombardi spoke to injured Denver Broncos safety Brian Dawkins for a story on Tuesday, and according to Lombardi, Dawkins says the neck injury that's kept him sidelined recently is not career threatening:
Just got done interviewing Dawkins for a piece I'm doing for our pregame show. He says the injury is not career-threatening.
Dawkins has not played in a game since Dec. 24, and Lombardi says that it does not appear Dawkins will be able to play in the team's second round playoff game against New England, but that there may be chance he'd be able to return to the field should the Broncos advance to the AFC championship game.
Dawkins was unable to participate in Broncos practice on Tuesday.
