The Denver Broncos host the Kansas City Chiefs on New Year's Day and the oddsmakers still aren't feeling that great about them in this end of season contest. The line opened at 3.5 points and initially a couple of lines moved it down to three points. The line has not changed since then, according to Odds Shark.
Kyle Orton will lead the Chiefs against his old team, making it quite possible that he could exploit the Broncos in the air. He did practice against these players for the majority of the season. Add to that, the Broncos are not expected to have safety Brian Dawkins on the field due to a neck injury. Dawkins is considered the heart and soul of the defense.
The game is being hailed as a must-win to help the players secure Romeo Crennel's placement as permanent Chiefs head coach. Kyle Orton might want to be on his best if he comes back and competes with Matt Cassel for the starting position next season. But Denver fans know all too well what Orton does when big things are on the line.
