NFL Cuts 2011: Denver Broncos Cut CB Perrish Cox

The Denver Broncos, it turned out, did cut cornerback Perrish Cox on Saturday in order to reach the 53-man roster limit. Cox had an uninspiring preseason and his legal troubles were always hanging over him. Cox is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman and gotten her pregnant.

Cox, it was believed, had a better chance making the roster once fellow second-year cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson was lost for the season with a torn Achilles tendon. However, it appears that Cox's dismal performance on Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals made the decision for John Fox.

The Broncos will now likely cut their roster to below the 53-man limit so that they can pick up a cornerback who is cut from another team. The Broncos' final roster might not be set for a few days, but for now we'll wait to see who else is cut to reach the limit.
