The rest of Week 3's picks will go live on Friday morning.
As things played out last week, the AFC West had just one winning team last week, which wound up being the Denver Broncos defeating the Cincinnati Bengals. Now with a three-way tie for first place between the Broncos, the Chargers and the Raiders, the AFC West is very much in play for all of them. The Kansas City Chiefs, however, are slip-sliding away with a season-ending injury to running back Jamaal Charles and two blowout losses
How will things play out this weekend?
Denver Broncos (1-1) vs. Tennessee Titans (1-1): The Denver Broncos came to Tennessee in 2010 and picked up one of their four victories that season. But past performance is not always an indicator of future results--or something. Titans running back Chris Johnson has gotten off to a slow start, but he could exploit the Broncos' defensive line for his breakout game of the season. Titans
New York Jets (2-0) vs. Oakland Raiders (1-1): The Jets overcame the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 with a fourth-quarter comeback and then demolished the Jacksonville Jaguars (or ran into Luke McCown and his 1.8 quarterback rating). The Raiders, meanwhile, lost a seesaw battle against the Bills, 38-35, in Week 2. They are home this weekend, but Mark Sanchez and the Jets pull off the road victory. Jets
Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) vs. San Diego Chargers (1-1): This seems like the game where everyone is going to discount the Chiefs because they have been outscored, 89-10, in two games and then see them wallop of the Chargers. The Chargers, if one looks at the spread, are favored by 15 points, which is a large number. However, the Chargers are fully capable of the covering that and more with Philip Rivers and Vincent Jackson working together. Chargers
