Fantasy Football 2011: Eric Decker Emerges From Sleeper Status

The Denver Broncos paved the way to victory by going to Willis McGahee and Eric Decker on Sunday afternoon. Injuries to Knowshon Moreno and Brandon Lloyd allowed McGahee and Decker into the lineup on a consistent basis, and fantasy football owners who started them reaped the rewards as well.

Willis McGahee pounded the ball 28 times for 101 yards and a touchdown, a sight the Broncos had not seen often enough with Knowshon Moreno running the ball. There's still no word on when Moreno will return to the lineup, but John Fox loves to run the ball and McGahee looks ready to shoulder the load.

Eric Decker was pegged as a sleeper entering this season, but he's already exploded onto the scene. Decker returned a punt for a touchdown and had 53 receiving yards in Week 1 before he became a starter in Week 2. He came up with five receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns. With Brandon Lloyd hurting from a groin injury and Eddie Royal likely out for some time with a significant injury there as well, Decker could become Kyle Orton's new best friend in the receiving game.
