Broncos' Ty Warren Placed On IR, According To Report; RB Jeremiah Johnson Takes Roster Spot

Though the hope was that defensive tackle Ty Warren would be able to return from triceps surgery in December, that has turned out to not be the case. According to Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post, Warren has been placed on season-ending injured reserve. This opens up a roster spot for running back Jeremiah Johnson, who will be elevated to the 53-man roster before Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Warren signed a two-year deal with the Broncos in August after the New England Patriots let him go. He was one of the prize-signings by the Broncos in free agency, but now he will miss a second season as a result of injury. A hip injury prevented him from playing in most of the 2010 season.

Jeremiah Johnson will help fill the void with Knowshon Moreno's expected absence on Sunday afternoon.
