Week 2 NFL Picks: Atlanta Falcons Home Underdogs Against Philadelphia Eagles

We've already examined this week's AFC West predictions and came to the conclusion that it would be best to pick against the team's in the division except for the Denver Broncos. The Chargers, Chiefs and Raiders are all on the road against teams that won in Week 1. The Raiders won just 23-20 over the Broncos, but that game wasn't that close. The Chargers managed to overcome the Vikings, but now they face the Patriots. The Chiefs were embarrassed at home in their loss to the Bills. The Broncos, however, face a Bengals team that, just like the Broncos, needs to show they have improved. An opening victory over the Browns for them has done that, but then that was against the Browns.

How will things turn out this week in the rest of the NFL?

Green Bay Packers at Carolina Panthers (+10) - Cam Newton astounded in his debut with a record 422 passing yards in a Week 1 debut, but he'll face a tougher test in the Packers this week. Plus, the Packers are the defending Super Bowl champions. Pick: Packers

Cleveland Browns at Indianapolis Colts (+3) - The Colts were embarrassed last week by the Texans, showing just how much the team needs Peyton Manning. The Browns want to make up for their loss to the Bengals. Pick: Browns

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Minnesota Vikings (-3) - The Buccaneers hung in there against the Detroit Lions last week while the Vikings did nothing in the second half against the Chargers and lost. Donovan McNabb will need to do better than 39 yards passing. Pick: Buccaneers

Chicago Bears At New Orleans Saints (-7) - The Bears came out and surprised many last week with a victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Will the Saints be their next victim? The Saints lost a close one to the Packers on Kickoff Thursday, falling short at the goal line. Pick: Bears

Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets (-9) - The Jaguars came away with the two-point victory last week even with the abrupt change in quarterback days before. But the Titans weren't great competition. They'll face a New York Jets team that had a fourth-quarter comeback over the Dallas Cowboys. Pick: Jets

Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers (-14.5) - The Seahawks were burned by the 49ers' Ted Ginn Jr. for kickoff and punt return touchdowns within a minute of each other at the end of the game. The Steelers also looked bad out there in their loss to the Ravens. This is way too big of a points spread for them to cover. Pick: Seahawks

Baltimore Ravens at Tennessee Titans (+6.5) - The Ravens looked mighty impressive against a Steelers team that clearly wasn't. The Titans were close to a victory, but the Jaguars came up with field goals when needed. Pick: Ravens

Arizona Cardinals at Washington Redskins (-4) - The Cardinals were burned by Cam Newton this week, but this time around they get Rex Grossman, who looked good out there against the Giants. Pick: Redskins

Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers (+3) - The Cowboys let the Jets come back in the fourth quarter while the 49ers had a large margin of victory thanks to Ted Ginn's return skills. Pick: 49ers

Houston Texans at Miami Dolphins (+3) - Chad Henne kept passing and passing, compiling 419 yards in the air. But Tom Brady also kept up and then surpassed him with over 500 yards in the air. Meanwhile, the Texans might have Arian Foster back, though Ben Tate is also ready to show that his Week 1 performance wasn't a one-off. Pick: Texans

Philadelphia Eagles at Atlanta Falcons (+3) - Michael Vick had just 187 passing yards, but threw for two touchdowns and had 97 rushing yards, second behind LeSean McCoy's 122. The Falcons are looking for their first offensive touchdown of the season. Pick: Falcons

St. Louis Rams at New York Giants (-7) - The Rams lost Danny Amendola for several weeks, a quad strain has Steven Jackson uncertain for this game and Sam Bradford might have lingering effects from his finger injury. Pick: Giants
