Merril Hoge Disses Tim Tebow On Twitter; LeBron James Enters Fray

Twitter seems to be the place to get into online fights these days. Case in point, ESPN NFL analyst (and that's used loosely for the following person) Merril Hoge took to Twitter on Thursday and started to badmouth Tim Tebow the football player. He says it would be "embarrassing" for the Broncos to attempt to win with Tebow. Then he lambasts Tebow for his college speech.

Hoge follows that up with an attack on Tebow's play in his three starts from 2010 twice. And throwing motion? Yeah, that's berated. He finishes with an assault on Tebow's accuracy. Then he shut up

Then after a hard day's practice, Tebow tweeted in response, "Hey Merril...... 'ppreciate that". Exactly the response one would expect from Tebow. He knows what he needs to do and wasting time on Hoge doesn't help anything.

End of story, right? Nah. LeBron James entered the fight and tweeted that Tebow "will succeed in the NFL." See, LeBron saw Hoge say the same stuff on SportsCenter. LeBron ended with this:

Guys get on that TV and act like they was all WORLD when they played. How bout encouraging him and wishing him the best instead of hating!!

LeBron has said a lot of silly stuff, but here he's right. It's easy to tear a man down. What does Hoge gain by doing this? All he's doing is opening himself to a ton of backlash.
